The formal instruction of the new Acting Chairman of the National Olympic Committee and General Directorate of Sports to the administrative officials
His excellency Mawlavi Abdul Wadud Haqqani is a resident of Jawzjan Province, he studied at Haqqani Madrasa of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has a long history in the ranks of the Ministry of Defense.
During the reign of the General Directorate of Physical Training and Sports, he has performed official duties as the General Director of Finance and Administration.
In the presence of numerous officials such as the Deputy Director of Administrative Supervision and Evaluation, Mawlavi Saifuddin Tayeb, and the Deputy Director of Planning and Policy of the Ministry of Rural Development, Maulvi Sharafuddin Muslim, on behalf of the National Olympic Committee and Sports and his excellency Mawlavi Abdul Wadud Haqqani was introduced to the officials of the General Department during a meeting and officially started his duties as the Acting Chairman.
Along with, Bawar Hotak, the first vice president of the National Olympic Committee, on behalf of the committee and all the athletes welcomed the chief guests and added that, the athletes are ready to work shoulder to shoulder with their leaders in tireless efforts to raise the name of the country.
He added (Mr. Hotak), we hope that with the arrival of the new leadership, special attention will be given to the sports and sportsmen on national and international level.
During the introduction of Maulvi Abdul Wadud Haqqani, Mawlavi Saifuddin Tayeb, Deputy Director of Administrative Affairs, proclaimed that the sacred religion of Islam is not against sports activists, rather it strengthens it.
Mr. Tayyeb assured all athletes and the federations will be given special attention than before.
The deputy director of the administrative supervision and evaluation of the National Olympic Committee and General Directorate of Sports praised the satisfaction and excellent achievements of the former head of the National Olympic Committee and General Directorate of Sports.
In this ceremony, the Deputy Director of Planning and Policy of the Ministry of Rural Development and Reconstruction Mawlavi Sharafuddin Muslim praised the good actions of the former head of this institution, Mr. Muslim called on the athletes if any of their friends or other friends have gone abroad, they should invite them to the country based on their relationship in order to serve their country, saying, this country is our common home together and we will work hard to build it.
During the said meeting, the new Acting Director of the National Olympic Committee and the General Department of Sports, Mawlavi Abdul Wadud Haqqani, expressed special thanks to the leadership of the National Olympic Committee and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who called him the person who entrusted the heavy responsibility of the leadership of the institution.
During his speech, he assured that he will perform this responsibility well and will listen to the problems of athletes to the best of his ability and provide opportunities for promoting the sport, his excellency appreciated the good leadership and efforts made by the previous head of the institution, Nazar Mohammad Mutmaen, in the field of sports and added that with his efforts, he brought sports from the center of Kabul to the provinces and to the remote districts of the country.
