The two-Day Kung-Fu contest has started in Kabul on the occasion of International Olympic day

A two-day Kung-Fu contest amongst 300 contestants categorized as juniors, teenagers and senior athletes from 65 clubs of Kabul city has started in the 500-person sports gymnasium of the General Department of Physical Training and Sports in Kabul on the occasion of the Olympic Day.

The opening ceremony of the contests was attended by Hafiz Ahmad Jan Zadran, technical & professional assistant of the General Department of Physical Training and Sports, affiliates of the advisory board, consultants, officials from Kung- Fu Federation, athletes and dozens of sports enthusiasts.

At the beginning of these contests, the head of the Kung Fu federation Mr. Habibullah Faizi gave his remarks regarding the current contests.

He said, the Kung-Fu contests are crucial & mandatory for the growth and development of the sport in the country.

Afterwards, Hafiz Ahmad Jan Zadran, stated to the participants of the meeting; All the federations have conducted the contests according to their annual plan. As the world celebrates different days according to their schedules, we should also celebrate the International Olympic Day like others.

He added; The Sports Authorities have obtained triumphs and accomplishments in the field of sports both at home and abroad and they will continue to do so.

According to the Kung-Fu Federation authorities, some of the best athletes will be identified for future contests as well.
